Debit Cards

TVFCU allows you 24-hour access to your sharedraft (checking) account with the simple swipe of a card. The TVFCU Debit MasterCard displays the MasterCard and NYCE logos and can be used anywhere MasterCard or NYCE are accepted, including ATM’s. This is just another way to make life simpler for you. With TVFCU’s Debit MasterCard it is easier and faster to pay for goods and services. There’s no checkbook to carry, no check to write, and no identification to show.

Purchases

With the MasterCard logo on your debit card you are able to pay for goods or services wherever MasterCard is accepted. When making a purchase, select the debit option. At this time you will need to enter your PIN. The card allows you the option to receive cash back at the time of sale should the merchant provide this service.

Automatic Teller Machines (ATM)

TVFCU’s Debit MasterCard can be used at any ATM displaying the MasterCard or NYCE logo. For security purposes, a PIN is required to access your funds. The transaction must be processed as a checking withdrawal. TVFCU does not charge a fee for ATM transactions, but the local machine may do so.

PIN Numbers & Security

Shortly after you receive your debit card in the mail, you will be sent a PIN number. For the security of your account please keep this number confidential. Should you feel your PIN number might have been compromised, contact our loan department immediately. If your Debit MasterCard is lost or stolen please call 1-800-237-6211 or 1-800-299-9842 for assistance.

To Apply for a Debit Card without an ODLOC

To apply for a Debit Card you must have a share draft account. The applicant must be the main member on the account. If there is someone joint on the account they may elect not to receive a card.

All transactions will withdraw from your sharedraft account.

If the Debit Card withdrawals exceed your sharedraft balance it will create a negative balance in your share draft account. You will be charged a $20.00 fee and funds may be transferred from a share account.

It takes approximately 2 to 3 weeks after you have been approved and signed needed paperwork to receive your Debit Card. Your PIN number will arrive 3 to 5 days after your card.

Overdraft Line of Credit Information

Should you decide you would like an Overdraft Line of Credit, the line of credit is attached to your sharedraft account and gives you a cushion for your transactions.

All transactions made with the TVFCU Debit MasterCard will be withdrawn from the sharedraft account. Should there be insufficient funds to cover the purchase, the Overdraft Line of Credit will be used. The exact amount needed to pay for the transaction will be transferred to the sharedraft account. Please note that funds from savings accounts are not available for debit card transactions.

Should the funds in the sharedraft account and the Overdraft Line of Credit be insufficient to pay for a transaction, the a NSF (non-sufficient funds) fee will be assessed to the sharedraft account. A notice will be sent to you when a transaction has been covered by the Overdraft Line of Credit or if a fee has been charged.

Transaction Verification

All debit card transactions you make will appear on your monthly sharedraft account statement. Each transaction will list the merchant’s name and location along with the dollar amount processed and the date of purchase. This makes for easy reconciliation of your statement, provided that you write each debit card transaction in your check register.
